A little about Tyler
Tyler is a handsome, happy two year old living in a suburb of Atlanta Georgia with his father, a single parent. Grandmother is close by to help out though ! Tyler was diagnosed with SOD at the age of three months. Dad was told that he would be blind for life & that there is no cure for this disorder. Everyone’s heart sank as we all got the news, each thinking of the things we with sight take for granted and Tyler would never see. His caring fathers (Eric) face, his cousins that he loves to cuddle with, the leaves in the fall, snow falling from the sky.
We started getting involved with everything we could for more information, and what we need to do to help Tyler have a normal life. Information ranged from learning what we need to know to help him crawl, walk, feed himself, his possibilities for schooling later on. We got the wonderful news this December right before he turned two, that he does have some light perception. So we keep searching for things to help. After meeting several people with children with similar disorders and many hours of internet searching, we found umbilical stem cell therapy. We then started contacting people & getting all the information we could find. We all decided that Tyler will have this done, but we can’t do it alone.
We are putting this page up to try and get the information out there for SOD and that there is hope. We are going to start fund raising and taking donations to make this trip happen. Its something we have to do, being a single dad is tough enough and having other issues makes it even harder. We have to do this for Tyler, whatever the outcome it will only make life easier for him all around ! Please help us give this handsome child the gift of sight. Every penny helps and will be used solely for his medical use.
